My knitwear has won prizes and I have designed jackets and waistcoats which have been extensively exhibited. This was my second subject at Farnham which I really enjoyed as you could do it anywhere and alter the design as you go along (different from weaving) I have been asked to do knitting workshops recently due to the popularity of crafts again and I have introduced people to the art of knitting with rags and making bags, cushions etc.
I have recently finishing off a project that was started in 1995 at the national woollen museum of Wales at Drefach Felindre It was an ikat woven piece which Involved making a warp and then tie dying it. I got to make the warp but then didn't get the time to finish it . I Finally got the warp out of my attic and untied the ties and asked my friend a fellow farnhamite Jackie Maddocks to weave it for me as I didn't have a loom. The weaving process has influenced my painting as in threads.
These were all made in the 80's when I had a studio workshop in Cowbridge. I designed many quilts to order and made examples using many types of patchwork ie log cabin, cathedral window, seminole and other more abstract designs.
